Narada Bhakti Sutram 25, 26 and 27-Part 2

Embodiments of Love!

 After a long gap I am back to Narada Bhakti Sutra;

I got to know the difference between ordinary human or earthly love and the divine Love.
Let us get into sutras25, 26 and 27

 Sutram 25

 सा तु कर्मज्ञानजयोगेभ्योऽप्यधिकतरा

Transliteration

 sā tu karma-jñāna-yogebhyo 'py adhikatarā

 Word by word meaning

 सा -sā — it;
 तु -tu — but;
 कर्म-karma —work;
 ज्ञान-jñāna — speculative knowledge;
 योगेभ्यः-yogebhyaḥ — mystic meditation;
 अपि-api — indeed;
 अधिकतरा-adhikatarā — superior

Simple Meaning:
 Devotional service, is far superior to work, philosophical speculation, and mystic meditation My Explanation: Human mind manipulates and induces us to do things simply for a benefit; if I work hard I get a promotion; I get better salary….. these all may lead me to have the illusion that I am happy. The methods of Karma, Jnana and Yoga require a Guru or teacher to lead us; all of a sudden I cannot become a Jnani or Karma Yogi or Yogi; they also require constancy of mind; monkey mind does not allow majority of people to perform these 3 paths that lead to perfection; Bhakti or divine love is like reading a book which allows the reader to have his or her fancy to imagine the characters, various scenaries etc; This Divine love is like the one sided love which makes the lover become mad over a period compelling him to love more….. ........this love is not like “ whatsApp love wherein people spend sleepless nights to know if his love has taken dinner even though it is none of his bloody business to know the same which even after being revealed does not make any difference…..sleepless nights at the most lead to sleepy office hours leading to damage to the employer demolishing the reputation of the lover On the other hand divine love is one sided and keeps the mind from wavering here and there It leads to our acceptance of reality and keeps us cool allowing us to take thing head on as this love is the result of total surrender

 As the Ankola seed is attracted to its stem,the iron to the magnet, the wife to her lord, the creeper to its tree, the river to the ocean, so the soul attracted stands ever at the feet of the Lord. This attraction is termed devotion, Bhakti.—Sivananda Lahari 61

      Sri Ramana Maharishi gives a beautiful explanation:

Whatever burden is thrown to God, He bears them. Since the supreme power of God makes all things move, why should we, without submitting ourselves to it, constantly worry ourselves with thoughts as to what should be done and how, and what should not be done? We know that the train carries all loads, so after getting on it, why should we carry our small luggage on our head to our discomfort, instead of putting it down in the train and feeling at ease?

धन्यवाद:

 See you in the next episode

With lots of love
