Entering Eternity

Embodiments of Love!

I wanted to sleep after a tiresome day; this day being Masapirappu (beginning of Tamil month Vaikasi) I was on fasting after the tharpanam as I didn’t get the neutral food; so made chapathi and cut cabbage for curry; thinking the heat of the hot plate was sufficient for steaming the cabbage I was facebooking on Raji’s house; when I felt hungry, opened the lid to find the cabbage the way I put it ; so I had to restart the hot plate ; then I tuned to the online songs to forget hunger
One song said, “ though flowers know their end, they give honey and die”

so before I die I wanted to give another episode
Narada Bhakti Sutram-14

लोकोऽपि तावदेव किन्तु भोजनादि व्यापारस्त्वाशरीरधारणावधि  १४

lokoapi tavad eva bhojanadi-vyaparas tva sarira
dharanavadhi-----14

Meaning:

For as long as the body lasts, one should engage minimally in social and political activities and in such matters as eating.

Explanation:

in Vivekachudamani Adi Sankara makes a super mix of the Advaita philosophy and the continuity of actions.

"Sickness is not cured by saying 'Medicine,' but by drinking it. So a man is not set free by the name of the Eternal without discerning the Eternal.

"Without piercing through the visible, without knowing the reality of the Self, how can men gain Freedom by mere outward words that end with utterances?

"Can a man be king by saying, 'I am king,' without destroying his enemies, without gaining power over the whole land?
"Through information, digging, and casting aside the stones, a treasure may be found, but not by calling it to come forth.
"So by steady effort is gained the knowledge of those who know the Eternal, the lonely, stainless reality above all illusion; but not by desultory study.

"Hence with all earnest effort to be free from the bondage of the world, the wise must strive themselves, as they would to be free from sickness.

the purported meaning is that to do all the above all social activities are required including prayers, going to temples and performing religious rites; by themselves these do not elevate a person to Brahmanhood; it is by realisation; for realisation a clean mind and a clear vision are required; the above things make a platform for the fine-tuning of the mind; I will share more on this soon.

One day Mullah Nasruddin entered his favorite teahouse and said: 'The moon is more useful than the sun'.
An old man asked 'Why mulla?'
Nasruddin replied 'We need the light more during the night than during the day.'

धन्यवाद:

See you in the next episode
With lots of love
