नारद भक्ति सूत्रणि—Episode 1

Narada's Aphorisms on Bhakti

Embodiments of Love!

Is that fittest will survive?

Is life a constant struggle?

Is breeding, getting a son/daughter, position, car, travelling all about life?

Switch off your TV, mobile, radio, laptop and stay alone in a room; that too when all in your house, are away for one day and night ; just think if this would be the same thing after Death? …..no wife/husband, relatives, and friends!

What is the feeling?
What happened to the Arrogance?
What happened to the Ego?
What happened to the Power?
What happened to the Authority?
Who will accompany in the final journey?

Is there more to Life?

ha ha ha…You may ask …oh Rajappa! you poor mad fellow! You being alone in a remote Indore house are imagining something and terrorizing the general public with your nightmares!

No dear …when we attain a stage of “nothing else to gain”, we will have nothing to lose, nothing to fear when we all will be Kings and Queens with the surround of serenity.

Hinduism is known for its controversies and confusions; when a rocket is launched, there would be lot of smoke, sound, confusion and tension; but Lo! We see the rocket just getting up slowly, steadily emitting glorious light and finally it is up above the world.

The Narada Bhakti Sutra also is a similar one; there are 84 verses ( slogams); some versions put them into 9 chapters and others at 5 chapters.
My point is Dosa or Idli or Pissa if given fully or in bits and pieces would be one and the same.

Actually I was planning to write about “Surrender”; it is a big and beautiful subject; it is not the surrender to our enemy accepting defeat; it is surrendering to the present moment.

Meera Sridhar, my niece and well-wisher suggested me to take up a particular theme and make a dish completely out of it; since I am a great cook also, I will use all my skills with the blessings of my Lord Siva, assistance of my Lieutenant Karthigeya and all your Wishes! I wish to present Narada Bhakti Sutra.

Bless Me for its Great Success; submitting at your glorious Feet!

स्वयं फलरूपतेति ब्रह्मकुमाराः  svayam phala-rupeti brahma-kumarah---sutra no 30

स्वयं -svayam -- itself
फल-phala-fruit
रूपते-rupate – manifesting, resulting as
इति -iti -- thus;
ब्रह्मकुमाराः --brahma-kumarah -- the son of Brahma (that is Narada).
the verb “said” is understood here

Meaning:
Son of Brahma says that it (bhakti- Devotion) is its own fruit.

Narada who is a Saint, singer and great Devotee( Bhakta) of Lord Narayana, tries to explain Bhakti; his sutra is a scale for devotion though Bhakti is immeasurable; he lived Bhakti which can be understood only if you also practice devotion!

(In Hinduism Bhakti(भक्ति) is  devotion, love felt towards a personal god.)

Tail piece story: there was a son; he was not studying well; father’s friend visited them one day; father of the son asked his friend to advise his son who has a better understanding with the visiting friend

Friend of father: Dear boy, what are you doing?
Boy: don’t you see? I am watching TV!
Friend: why don’t you spare time for studies?
Boy? What will be the result?
Friend: you will get good marks!
Boy: oh, I see, then?
Friend: you will go to a good college!
Boy: oho ho, then?
Friend: you will get a good job!
Boy: wonderful, then?
Friend: you will get good salary and enjoy your Life!
Boy: My dear uncle, what do think I am doing Now?!

धन्यवाद:

See you in the next episode
With lots of love
