Narada Bakti Sutram-4 :Is it Knowledge or Fear Factor?

Naradha Bhakti Sutram 4

Embodiments of Love!

Sutram 4

यल्लब्ध्वा पुमान् सिद्धो भवति I
                              अमृतो भवति तृप्तो भवति II

Transliteration

yal labdhva puman siddho bhavati
amrito bhavati tripto bhavati

Word by word meaning

भवति
यत् --yat – that, which ;( in this context denotes Bhakti)
लब्ध्वा --labdhva -- having gained;
पुमान् --puman -- a person;
सिद्धः --siddhah -- perfect;
भवति --bhavati -- becomes;
अमृतः --amritah -- immortal;
भवति --bhavati -- becomes;
तृप्तः--triptah – contended, satisfied
भवति --bhavati -- becomes;

Upon achieving/gaining that stage of transcendental devotion,  in pure love of God, a person becomes perfect, immortal, and contended.

My Explanation:

We have seen attainment of immortality earlier.

The other 2 attributes of perfection and satisfaction were bothering me; many commentators have shared that after this stage we would reach the stage of perfection and satisfaction.
I could not get to a convincing explanation with my rational mind;
Inshah Allah! Bhaktha Kabhir Das came to my help!
My Father used to quote following couplets (Dohas) of Kabir Das often:

Kaal Kare So Aaj Kar, Aaj Kare So Ub

Pal Mein Pralaya Hoyegi, Bahuri Karoge Kub

Meaning

Do Tomorrow’s work s today, today's work now

If catastrophe comes , when will you do the work?

So a person with Bhakti attains that knowledge which emphasizes impermanence of time and things; She/he becomes a performer at any cost; this aggression on the foundation of perfection leads to satisfaction

another gem from Kabir

"Bura Jo Dekhan Main Chala, Bura Naa Milya Koye

Jo Munn Khoja Apnaa, To Mujhse Bura Naa Koye"

Meaning:
I searched for the crooked man, met not a single one
Then searched myself, "I" found the crooked one

Instead of trying to find faults in others, we should look into ourselves and try to improve ourselves.

See you in the next episode
