My explanations

This sutra  is really wonderful

Nectar gives the person who takes that, the capacity to live forever; means no death; if I have understood properly, Divine Love-that is Bhakti acts in the opposite way; nectar if it is consumed gives immortality; but Bhakti if given or shown gives immortality.

I remember a beautiful story of Satya Bhama and Rukmani; Satya Bhama was always feeling proud of the special attention she has been getting from Lord Krishna; she had the opinion that Krishna loved her more than Rukmani.

Krishna –the all-knower, understood this and wanted to show Satya Bhama the importance of Divine Love/Divine Bhakti.

What Krishna thinks always is carried out by Narada!

Narada approached Satya Bhama and told her that Krishna loved Rukmani more than Satya Bhama. This created jealousy in Satya Bhama; she asked the opinion of Narada; He suggested that Satya Bhama would hand over Krishna to Narada as charity telling others of such a vow she had taken long back; to get back Shri Krishana, Narada would allow trading Krishna in for an equivalent weight  of Her riches which would make Krishna entirely the property of Satya Bhama.

Satya Bhama happily agreed to this plan; she told that she was the daughter of Satrajit; and with the limitless wealth she would easily win the game of balancing Krisna’s weight with her riches.
She rushed to my Lord Krishna and declared that she had earlier made such a deed and requested Krishna that she would get him back with her riches; Krishna readily agreed.

the entire assembly was present; in front of others Satya Bhama declared that she was giving away Shri Krishna as Dhaanam (charity) to Narada as committed earlier; everybody was shocked but did not tell a word; Narada as decided earlier gave Satya Bhama a choice that he was ready to give back Krishna if she could give Narada an equivalent weight of her wealth as compensation; Satya Bhama ordered a big Balance (Even today in Kerala Guruvayoor temple Thulabharam is happening)

Krishna was asked to occupy one side of the balance; that side went to the ground level leaving the median level needle completely tilted to Krishna’s side; Satya Bhama started adding jewels, gold, gems and whatever that is precious; there was no movement in the balance.

after a while Narada warned her that if she failed to get back Krishna, then Narada was at free will to barter away Krishna to anybody; Bhama was horrified; she started asking all the other wives; all gave their jewels; no change in the balance

Krishna suggested, “Bhama, why can’t you ask Rukmani?”

immediately she rushed to Rukmani’s room and shared what was happening; Rukmani with a composed state of mind went to Thulasi Maadam (Basil Leaf plantation cubicle meant for worship)( Dear Foreign Readers—in India Thulasi is very auspicious and worshipped with great reverence, especially by ladies); she prayed Thulasi Mata and just plucked one leaf and went to the balance; made a small prayer thinking of Krishna as the greatest Lover and placed the leaf; that side of the balance immediately went down taking Krishna up like a lift!

Krishna further suggested Bhama that she could try removing the wealth; reluctantly Bhama removed all except Tulasi Leaf; the sides did not make any difference in position.

Krishna explained, “Bhama you offered all your things with a mind of possessiveness which made the articles lose their value; on the other hand, Rukmani made the offering with utmost love and devotion towards me. And that single leaf was sufficient to please me beyond expectations. Remember it is not the offering that matters, but the love and devotion with which you do it, that does.”

Dear Readers, the Bhakti (offering, divine love-showering ) of Rukmani made Her immortal in the Universe also making Satya Bhama equally a Heroine as she also helped in demonstrating what is supreme Love!

Jai Shree Krishna

Today is Pradosham; whoever has read this story will have all their problems solved easily and will have a Peaceful & prosperous Life with their Family!
