Suicide:  A Few Tips before you Decide

Embodiments of Love!

This is a song from the old Tamil Movie

Tholvi nilaiyena ninaithal Manithan vazhvai ninaikkalama
Vazhvai sumaiyena ninaithu thayin kanavai Sithaikkalama.....
vidiyalukkillai dhooram vidiyum manadhil innum yen baaram
un nenjam muzhuvadhum veeram irundhum kannil innum yen eeram
Translation:
If one believes that defeat is permanent,  How could man face  life?
Thinking of life as a burden, would you destroy your Mother's dreams?

Dawn (A new beginning) is not far off so why is your heart, which is enlightened, still heavy with sorrow? You are bravery personified and yet your eyes are filled with tears.

When i read that in certain south East Asian countries suicide is becoming order of the day, i thought of writing an article so that if i can save a great Son/Daughter of a poor mother, who has been building castles about the future of her promising child.

i have made an essay on the nobility of human birth taking quotes from poet philosopher Adi Sankara and Ishopanishad

due to want of time i will post them in instalments

Dear Friends, do not just release your soul into vacuum without reaping the fruits of this human birth here itself.

before i close i would quickly take you through a few beautiful verses from Vivekachudamani and Ishopanishad

we will see the Sanskrit slogam tomorrow but  i am sharing the meaning now.

in the 6 th stanza of Ishopanishad  two different approaches are shared; one who sees every being in the Self, and in the second, who sees that Self in all beings.

this quote is not to demonstrate my proficiency but to state that if you see all in you, and you in  all, what do you lose here my dear? Your Lover/Love? your parents? no, they are in you.

see another Gem from Vivekachudamani; this is from the preamble: see, Sankara claims it a suicide of a soul who has not strived to attain Liberation; please understand Liberation does not mean killing the self dear

 2. Human nature is the hardest to obtain, even more so that of manhood( here it is not pertaining to gender please). Brahminhood( here it is not a caste referred to but the higher state of a person who never hurts others) is rarer still, and beyond that dedication to the path of Vedic religion. Beyond even that there is discrimination between self and non-self, but liberation by persistence in the state of the unity of God and self is not to be achieved except by the meritorious deeds of hundreds of thousands of lives.( So Dear Friend, do not waste one life by committing suicide)

The Punchline is as follows:

4. He is a suicide who has somehow achieved human birth and even manhood and full knowledge of the scriptures but does not strive for self-liberation, for he destroys himself by clinging to the unreal.

 5. Who could be more foolish than the man who has achieved the difficult attainment of a human body and even manhood but still neglects his true good?

धन्यवाद: for changing your decision ; continue to live; I need you so that I have a permanent reader for my blog

See you in the next episode
With lots of love
